Terms and Conditions for Dance Floor Hire between ZipAddress Limited & Babbage’s Bistro

Where it says “Babbage’s Bistro” in these Terms and Conditions, it is understood that this refers to Bart Czapczynski acting on behalf of Babbage’s Bistro.

Amendments to Terms and Conditions

ZipAddress reserves the right to amend, modify, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time. In the event of any changes, ZipAddress will notify the Hirer through appropriate communication channels. Continued use of our services after such amendments constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

Hire Costs

The hire cost for the dance floor is £250 + VAT when fitted and dismantled by our team or £130 + VAT if fitted and dismantled by the hirer.

The hire cost applies to each individual event the dance floor is used for, not as a one-off fee.

If Babbage’s Bistro opts for our team to fit the dance floor:

• The first event will incur the full fitted cost (£250 + VAT).
• For consecutive events where the dance floor remains down, a reduced fee (£130 + VAT) applies. Example:
  • Event 1: Dance floor fitted and dismantled = £250 + VAT
  • Event 2 (next consecutive day): £130 + VAT (no build/strike required)
  • Event 3 (following consecutive day): £130 + VAT (no build required/strike included in Event 1 fee)

The hire cost will be invoiced in the following monthly invoice raised to Babbage’s Bistro.

If a booking is cancelled by Babbage’s Bistro after the dance floor has been laid, full payment will be due. If the dance floor has not yet been laid and the event is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled event date, an administrative fee of £50 + VAT will be charged.

Use of Dance Floor

The dance floor is for use exclusively within Babbage’s Bistro and cannot be taken off-site under any circumstances. Additionally, the dance floor cannot be sub-hired to any other individual or entity.

Fitting and Dismantling

Training will be provided for the proper fitting and dismantling of the dance floor.

Only individuals from Babbage’s Bistro who have successfully completed the training are authorised to fit the dance floor.

The dance floor must be dismantled and put away as soon as is practicable after the event. If it is to be left in situ idle for more than 24 hours following the event, this is strictly at the agreement of ZipAddress Limited and may incur an idle charge.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The dance floor must be cleaned after each use with suitable, non-abrasive cleaning agents.

Babbage’s Bistro is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dance floor throughout the hire period.

No food or drinks of any kind are permitted on the dance floor. These may only be consumed in the seating areas.

Any liquid spillages must be mopped up immediately, as they will cause serious damage if absorbed into the floors.

General Conditions

Babbage’s Bistro is responsible for any damage incurred during the hire period.

The dance floor must be returned in the same condition as it was at the start of the hire.

Additional charges may apply for repairs or excessive cleaning if the dance floor is returned in poor condition.

In the case where the dance floor is required to stay insitu at Babbage’s Bistro overnight or longer, it is the responsibility of Babbage’s Bistro to ensure the dance floor is in a safe, secure premises and that the dance floor is barricaded to avoid the public using it.

It is the full responsibility of Babbage’s Bistro for the dance floor whilst at the premises, and Babbage’s Bistro will be fully responsible for the dance floor going missing or any damage that may occur. The hire period is in line with the event booking form.

Liability and Indemnity

The Renter agrees to indemnify and hold the Owner harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the use of the portable dance floor, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or other related claims. The Owner is not liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from improper installation, usage, or maintenance of the dance floor by Babbage’s Bistro or any third party.

Babbage’s Bistro assumes full responsibility for ensuring all conditions are met during the hire period.

Acceptance of Terms
